Why did Corbyn lie?

Due to editorials like this on the Brixton riots:

'the street fighting was excellent, but could have been (& hopefully in future will be) better organized! ...there are occasions when... insurrectionary methods become necessary.' 1/14
'The defence of a future left-wing Labour Government from right-wing military subversion (on the Chilean model) could well be a future task facing us, in which case the events of Bristol last year & Brixton this year might be seen in a more positive light.'

'Chilean model' 2/14
'On the subject of the police, some of us also prefer Ted Knight's [Corbyn was his friend & election agent in 79] courageous statements... the task, surely, is to break the Metropolitan Police Force as at present constituted' 3/14
On the opposite page to the editorial was an article by Coryn on Target 82 (targeting Labour moderates)

The use of the 'Chilean model' is a dead giveaway that Corbyn was behind this particular editorial. 4/14
Briefing on judges:
"Let them be warned" the bulletin started, "when courts and judges, with all their magisterial splendour, render themselves illegal in the eyes of the people, then they invite us the moment we are strong enough to sweep them away" [Times 25 Nov 1981 p.2] 5/14
Briefing on Labour leader Michael Foot & the Falklands:
'The magazine's editorial contains probably the most virulent criticism of Mr Foot's leadership yet. It accuses him of "weak, decrepit & clapped out leadership" which is an electoral liability.' 6/14
'the editorial is scathing about the front-bench's support for what it calls an imperialist war...
It says Britain "holds the Malvinas [Falklands] as a colonial possession"'
[Guardian 26 May 1982] 7/14
"Regrettably, Michael Foot's position has been the most pathetic and hypocritical of all. Many now feel, quite justifiably, that Foot is not the right man to lead Labour into the next general election."

Has Corbyn ever liked any Labour leader? 8/14
Briefing on Neil Kinnock June 83.
'Mr Kinnock is denounced as a "Preaching careerist" unfit to be leader of the Labour Party in the latest edition of London Labour Briefing.'
[Times 30 June 1983 p.2] 9/14
'The editorial statement in the August issue of Labour Briefing national supplement:
'The present PLP must be broken open, cleaned out and revolutionised from top to bottom - so that is becomes an instrument of our movement.'' [SA 27 Jul 1984 p.10]

It is now. 10/14
The infamous Brighton bomb editions.
In Nov 84 edition editorial headlined "Get Thatcher's Terrorist Troops out of Ireland and while it did not condemn the violence it admitted that it was "stunned" by the bombing & expressed sympathy for the "dead & their kin". 11/14
In its Dec edition it completely reversed it's position after "an immediate & overwhelmingly hostile - response"
'In an orgy of self-criticism Briefing confesses to having "lost its nerve" and having made serious political misjudgement in expressing sympathy to dead Tories' 12/14
The editorial included IRA propaganda & published letters which: 'justified the bomb on the grounds that it "tore into the ruling class and only them"'

"is it legitimate for an anti-imperialist guerrilla army to attempt to wipe out the Cabinet of the oppressor nation?" 13/14
It also printed some revolting 'jokes circulating amongst "Socialists"'

"Try riding you bike now Norman"

"What do you call four dead Tories? A start"

[Times 17 Dec 1984]

Corbyn was on the editorial board throughout this period, that why he lied. #GE19 #labourlies 14/14
