If U.S. officials believe the downing of the Ukrainian Int'l Airlines flight #PS752 was an "accident," why does the regime in #Iran continue denying the entire subject?

Accepting this as an "accident" would make it far easier for Tehran to wrap up the entire matter.

Me thinking:
The regime in #Iran can easily accept the "accident" scenario, prosecute a few low-ranking military officers & compensate the victims' families. Case closed.

Tehran can even claim a rogue military officer/unit shot down the #PS752.

Why continue denying?

#Iran's authorities dispatched anti-riot units to the site of the Ukrainian Int'l Airlines flight #PS752 crash site.

Along with the previously posted images of bulldozers razing the area, this further shows the regime has deep security concerns about the crash.
