⚠️The US now has 105 #coronavirus cases with >50 peo­ple diagnosed within the US (including 2 new cases in #Georgia). as the num­ber of con­firmed cases out­side #China surpassed 10,000. Six people have died from #COVID19.

Expect these numbers to surge.

Unfortunately, I expect a massive surge in cases here in the US through March that will hopefully ebb as summer approaches.

Unfortunately, the (continued) bungled rollout of #coronavirus testing in the US has made it even more difficult to contain #COVID19, due to the lack of early testing.🤬

⚠️The similar genomes of 2 #coronavirus infections in #Washington suggest #COVID19 may have been spreading in the state for ~6 weeks.

150—1,500 people “have either been infected and recovered or currently are infected now.”

Unfortunately, community spread of #coronavirus has been occurring in MULTIPLE regions for weeks. In #Oregon, the infected school worker(!) had symptoms for a week before being tested — add the long incubation period, and this person likely was infected 2-3 weeks ago.

As I discussed, we cannot stop #coronavirus, but we can contain it.

But unfortunately, I expect many more #COVID19 cases for the next 4-6 weeks (at least).

First check to see if they bothered to add any variability whatsoever in the model they are using to supposedly report actual numbers from a complex system.

The mortality rate they want you to report is the - 0 day rate: Today's Confirmed Death total minus Today's Confirmed Case total.

This has not varied outside of 1/10th of 1% in the last 5 prints.

I have decided to reconvene the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee on the new #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) tomorrow to advise me on whether the current outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.
Most of the 6000+ new #coronavirus cases are in #China – just 1%, or 68 cases, have been recorded to date in 15 other countries. But some person-to-person transmission in 3 countries outside of 🇨🇳 has been recorded. This potential for further global spread is why I called the EC
The vast majority of new #coronavirus cases have been recorded in #China. Most cases reported outside are in people with a travel history from 🇨🇳, or have been in contact with people who have been there. But there are some signs of person-to-person transmission outside 🇨🇳.
