The number of new #coronavirus cases in the US continues to explode exponentially with no sign of slowing.

Each day brings more new #COVID19 cases than the prior day, now >20,000 new cases a day – the most in the world.😥

#Spain and #Italy have flattened the curve.

Total US #COVID19 cases continue to set the record and now represent *25% of ALL #coronavirus cases worldwide* (albeit #China doesn't report accurately).

@realDonaldTrump *still* hasn't ordered nationwide #lockdown.

New cases will continue to explode for at least 2-3 weeks.
*Still* no nationwide #lockdown, but most states now have #StayHome orders. We will eventually #FlattenTheCurve of new #coronavirus cases, but it will take ~2-3 weeks:

▶️People infect housemates
▶️Incubation period
▶️Time for serious #COVID19 symptoms

Sadly, the number of #COVID19 deaths in the US will continue to surge, until ~2-3 weeks after we finally #FlattenTheCurve of new #coronavirus cases, because it takes ~18 days (on average) after diagnosis for a patient to succumb.

Despite REPEATED warnings *since January* about the threat of this deadly #coronavirus, Trump refused to prepare.

We now have MASSIVE shortages of key equipment, and Trump *still* hasn’t invoked the #DefenseProductionAct to ramp up production of #PPE.🤬

Trump and cronies have urged state/local governments to buy their own #masks and ventilators.

#China struggled to reopen today- especially firms in the #globalsupplychain. Manufacturers dealing with a tangle of conflicting requirements that vary province to province, city to city. Most being asked to provide extensive prevention of #coronavirus before they can reopen.
#GuangdongProvince requires 4 steps:
1) set up prevention/control protocol 2) quarantine non-local/migrant workers
3) supply protective gear for all workers
4) conduct routine temperature checks/disinfection
Factories meeting demand can apply for approval from local authorities.

Updated with today's Mainland China "data". Note that the R^2 for the last 4 data points from the mode... er, um actual contracted cases rounds to 1.0000.

Will post what tomorrow's numbers should be if they maintain narrative.

A finer point on what is happening:

China is a country of 1.4 Billion with 10s of Millions in lockdown in cities & entire regions. Schools are closed for months; work stoppages for weeks.

China posts #coronavirus #s daily for at least 31 provincial divisions in the Mainland.
The #coronavirus expansion is extremely complex with many moving parts... even including mandatory cremations.

Yet, I have been able to predict their reporting within an extremely narrow band since early in the outbreak expansion (around 4500 cases / 100 deaths).
