1/4 "#Immunity#debt vs post covid immune deficiency (PCID).
Not an immunology expert, but here are 25 papers/articles that collectively argue for PCID.
Immunity debt is a made up term that reflects poor science."
2/4 Since the start of the pandemic, in 2019, #COVID19 cases, particularly asymptomatic and subclinical cases, and convalescents with some form of post-acute sequelae of #SARSCoV2, i.e. #LongCovid, #LongCovidKids, etc., may all have been grossly underestimated.
3/4 Cases considered "recovered" from #SARSCoV2 infection, i.e., #COVID19-recovered, may be grossly overestimated, as we have yet to fully elucidate the pathophysiology of the disease and the public health implications of chronic re/infections.
4/4 Without detailed laboratory tests and analyses, including pre-infection baseline assessments, how can anyone be considered "recovered" from an infection that can induce latent multi-systemic dysregulation that has yet to be fully explained and understood?

1/3 "We report reduction in proportion of hospitalisations and deaths from SARS-CoV-2 infections during the Omicron variant dominated wave in Malawi, in the context of high SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence and low COVID-19 vaccination coverage."
2/3 "These findings suggest that COVID-19 vaccination policy in high seroprevalence settings may need to be amended from mass campaigns to targeted vaccination of reported at-risk populations."
3/3 What about vaccine non-responders? What about those who have not seroconverted despite exposure? How many of the study participants were reinfected? How many are victims of viral reservoirs and/or viral persistence? What about latent post-acute sequelae of #SARSCoV2?
