In Germany, fewer new infections caused by the corona virus were reported on Sunday. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 18,610 infected people on Sunday, 1948 more than the previous day.

In Germany, fewer new infections caused by the corona virus were reported on Sunday. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 18,610 infected people on Sunday, 1948 more than the previous day.
This means that the number of new infections fell for the fourth day in a row; on Saturday the number of illnesses had increased by 2705. However, the institute warned that data was not transmitted from all offices at the weekend,
so that the actual increase in the number of cases could be higher than reported. "The data will be forwarded on Monday," said the RKI. The institute named the number of deaths on Sunday at 55, compared to an increase of 15 to 46 reported for Saturday.
The institute also reported that a patient had been wrongly reported as dead on Saturday.

Johns Hopkins University (JHU), based in the US city of Baltimore, reported 22,364 infected people. The RKI, which only takes into account the electronically transmitted figures from the federal states and updates its list once a day,
has registered 55 deaths so far, the JHU 84 deaths.
