What do our early primary books say about the sword of Imam Ali (AS); Dhulfiqar?

Note: this is a brief discussion
#didyouknow there is not a single narration in our early primary sources that indicate the sword of Imam Ali was a double edged sword, rather our Imams state it was called Dhulfiqar for other reasons. It was the later scholars that concluded that Dhulfiqar is double edged.
Our Imams state that it was called Dhulfiqar because Imam Ali did not strike anyone from the creations of Allah except that he deprived them of this world, their family & children, & deprived them in the hereafter from heaven (meaning Imam Ali only struck those who deserved hell)

It's been a month since @wilson_soli exposed that Samoa had been treating 16 people in an isolation unit with suspected measles in early October. But the @samoa_observer had been following the growing measles crisis long before that, as far back as March. #Thread #MeaslesInSamoa
In March, anti-vaxxer Taylor Winterstein wanted to charge Samoans hundreds of tala to attend a "workshop" on "choice." Dr Helen Petousis-Harris told us her advice is a public health threat. Already, NZ was facing more than 50 cases of the disease.
Head of the Ministry of Health was worried too. "One serious, virulent virus can wipe out this population in less than two weeks," he said about Winterstein's anti-vaxx agenda.

#DidYouKnow Though #AzimPremji was born in #Mumbai, the business journey of his family began in the small town of Amalner in Jalgaon district where his father, Muhammad Hashim Premji had a unit manufacturing vegetable oil and a laundry soap he set up in 1945. #ObserverDiaries
It is said that Jinnah had requested Hashim Premji to migrate to #Pakistan after Partition but he chose to remain in India. Only that vegetable oil unit remains as a token presence of the family's group at Amalner though it has expanded phenomenally in the country and overseas.
Driving through rural northern Maharashtra in Jalgaon district gives one a great idea of how brilliant this monsoon has been for this part of the state. All water bodies are full to the brim, like the Bahula river in the photos, which used to be as dry as a bone! #ObserverDiaries

#DidYouKnow that Dinah Chase [Whipple] was born into slavery and lived in Newmarket, NH until she was freed on her 21st birthday, the same day she married Prince Whipple?

She then lived in Portsmouth, NH until her passing in 1846, at the age of 86.

Unusual for the times, being both Black and a woman, Dinah was literate and taught children for the Ladies Charitable African School. She likely taught in their house on High St, where Dinah and Prince moved 4 yrs after they married.

#DidYouKnow #DinahWhipple
While the High St house was demolished in the early 1800s, a house, which still stands, was built on the original foundations and is part of the Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail.

#DidYouKnow that rabid Communist Brinda Karat is the sister of Radhika Roy?

NDTV is basically one of the many institutions that were created as part of Communist-Congress alliance to control the political narrative in India by making a fool of Indians
As NDTV expanded its influence with rising TV viewership in India, Prannoy & Radhika Roy started to make political deals in exchange for doing the dirty job of Congress party

NDTV became the face of Indian media abroad with extensive links to US-funded NGOs & judiciary

🔸The #Ganesha Purana describes the 32 forms of Lord Ganesha and among them, Mahaganapathi is widely worshiped

🔸The first 16 forms of Ganesha are known by the name “Shodasa #Ganapati” and the later ones are known as “Ekavimsathi”
1. Bala Ganapati

As the name suggests, Bala Ganapati is the child form of Vinayagar that symbolises earth's abundance and fertility as he holds a banana, mango, sugarcane, and jackfruit in each of His four hands

His trunk curls around His favourite sweet 'Modakam'
2. Taruna Ganapati

Taruna Ganapati is in His teens and symbolises youthfulness (His body glows in red)

In this form, Vinayagar has 8 arms, each holding a modakam, noose, goad, wood apple, rose apple, tusk, some paddy, and sugar cane

(1) Thread: June 5th #earthquake near #Ridgecrest CA

I'm an earthquake survivor from NZ (2011) who will provide reporting & commentary below, just as soon as I can load the USGS pages properly.

This was big, shallow, & the city has 28k people.
(2) OK, have given up on the USGS website for now. Current USGS-sourced assessment of this EQ is:

Mag: 7.1 (severe)
Depth: 0.9km (half a mile, v. v. shallow)
Location: 17km NNE of Ridgecrest, CA (very close to city)
(3) I would be very surprised if there is no loss of life from this EQ.

185 people died in the Christchurch NZ EQ of 2/22/11. I was thrown across the room, but was fine, compared to others.

Ridgecrest: 28,000 + rural areas is a lot of people affected.

Back in 2014, Rueben Abati was caught showcasing projects executed by the Kano State RMK led Government as part of the legacy projects executed by the President Jonathan’s administration using the hashtag #DidYouKnow
These projects were executed by Abba K Yusuf as a Commissioner!
Abba K. spearheaded the construction of a first of its kind Flyover in the history of infrastructural projects in kano, stretching from the Silver Jubilee to Kofar Nassarawa. Many wondered if the project would ever be completed, only for RMK to appear with GMB for commissioning.
A lot of us besieged the site at sunset when the string of installed state of the Art streetlights illuminate the top of the flyover, with the renovated NorthWest University city campus story building majestically sitting on the left.

Been meaning to do this thread for a while - looking at Healthcare in Nigeria, and what @NGRPresident @AsoRock have achieved in the last 4 years, under President @MBuhari

Use seatbelt let’s take a ride.
The starting point for this is the fact that the responsibility for healthcare in Nigeria is shared by all three tiers of Govt. Primary Health Care is largely in the hands of the States and Local Govts. Anyone looking EXCLUSIVELY to Abuja for progress is making a mistake.
Of course the FG has an important supporting role. And under @MBuhari it has played that role diligently. #DidYouKnow that since 2016, the Buhari Admin has given State Govts (all 36 States + FCT) a total of US$259 Million specifically to improve Maternal, Newborn & Child Health.

My Benue people, #DidYouKnow the stretch of the Enugu—Makurdi Exp between Otukpo & the Benue-Enugu Border is being fixed?

Otukpo-Ugbokolo(40km) almost finished

Ugbokolo-Border(36km) just commenced

Also, @FMPWH just flagged off Phase 2 rehabilitation work on Otukpo-Aliade Road
.@igalaman traveled the route yesterday. Confirms that Otukpa-Otukpo largely fixed. Says traveling on that road, once a “no go area” now “a delight.”

Indeed it used to be one of the worst roads in Nigeria, as the attached @ynaija article from 2012 notes:
One more thing: Loko—Oweto Bridge linking Benue to Nasarawa across River Benue is almost finished. Been like five years in the making - finally getting to the end.

Will reduce travel time between South East Nigeria and Abuja by about 3 hours, according to @FMPWH

Meanwhile some States are actually suffering declining IGR: “Of the 36 states, 28 states grew their IGRs, while states such as Ebonyi, Anambra, Benue, Abia and Kebbi recorded declines in IGR... in H1 2018.”…
