Voter suppression by the GOP. In 2018, the American Indian was denied the right to Vote because of how & where they live on their reservations. I believe their reservations should unite to be the 51st or 52nd state of the U.S. /1…
This will give them 2 Senators & Representatives in Congress. There are 573 Federally Recognized Indian Nations in the U.S. And, 326 Indian reservations scattered throughout the U.S. They form a state, petition for admittance into the Union. /2
Even though states would claim "no new state shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state." Taxes are not collected by those states on these reservations. This is the loophole. They propose statehood, vote on a State Constitution & collect taxes. /3

Let's get 2020 started. I'll be posting Campaign Resolutions like #NewYearsResolution but how I'll Represent #NC13 in D.C.
1 - I am not accepting Corporate PAC donations like my Republican opponent. My vote is not for sale.…
2 - I will work to engage citizens to hold our Government accountable to the people. I'm not running to be a politician. I am elected to be a Public Servant. I work for the district not for the #donorclass. Our #workingclass families need representation in D.C.
3 - We live in #TwoAmericas. The #ExtremeRich & everybody else. Everybody else is having to work 2 or 3 jobs. We need to focus on improving #workingclass wages. I will support a $15 min raise. My Republican opponent voted NO on HR 582 - Raise the Wage Act…

Today's (10-31) Data Thread: NC's 2018 'early votes' are setting new #s in terms of absentee by mail & one-stop/in-person for a mid-term:

Over 1.4M requests have been made & returned & accepted (accepted mail not yet past 2014 total #s, but in-person has)

#ncpol #ncvotes
2018's absentee by mail ballots have slowed somewhat, & thus the #s have not yet reached 2014's #s.

But in absentee onestop/in-person ballots, NC has exceed 2014's #s for both requested & accepted.

Reminder: 2014 had 10 days of early voting & 2018 has 18 days.

#ncpol #ncvotes
Here are NC's 2018 requested NC absentee ballots for both mail and in-person methods, by daily totals and daily cumulative totals.

Tuesday saw 130K in-person early voters request ballots as we start final few days of NC's early voting period (ends Saturday)

North Carolina's 'early votes' are on pace for a mid-term record; as of 10-26-18 for absentee by mail & one-stop/in-person:

Over 1M requests have been made;

Of those, 957K of both absentee by mail & onestop/in-person have been returned & accepted.

#ncpol #ncvotes
Regarding NC accepted in-person ballots (that will be the majority of absentees): as has been noted for a few days, 2018 seems more of a 'presidential' year than a traditional mid-term.

But, 2018's daily total is slipping behind 2016's daily total, as expected

#ncpol #ncvotes
2018's NC accepted absentee in-person ballots is at 82% of where 2016 stood this same day (reminder: one more extra day in 2018 than 2016).

Compared to 2014's final #s, 2018 is now 84% of that mid-term's final tally of a little over 1M absentee in-person ballots

This story is wild: One of my followers (@the_stormclam) shared this Facebook post from Greensboro, NC Rabbi Fred Guttman on how an electronic voting machine was wrongly switching some of his votes from Dem to GOP. Guttman is my father’s rabbi, & Gboro’s in a key House seat #NC13
Like a number of North Carolina counties, Guilford (pop ~500k) uses electronic voting machines that produce a paper record. But it’s likely that tons of voters don’t bother checking that internal receipt when they vote. Make sure you do if you vote on one
To be clear, there’s no indication yet that this is anything but an error or is a widespread problem. However, if anything like this happens to you, alert polling place staff immediately & ensure your vote is recorded properly. And push your representatives to adopt paper ballots
