JAN: Moore admits cases will be higher in the next six weeks, but "We'll get through it!" What, dear doctor, does that mean?? How many lives will be lost or experience profound cognitive disability or organ failure from long covid?? Is that part of getting through it?? #onted
FEB: As a civics teacher, the problem isn't the curriculum, but making it stick. Many of my top students in grade 10 forget some important basics by grade 12. It somehow needs to be reviewed each year, every year. It wouldn't hurt to lengthen it, shorten careers, as 1 credit.

I am angry

Angry because I have spent almost three years pounding my head against a proverbial wall, presenting evidence publicly and privately, advocating, speaking out.

I have never felt like the voters had much power in New York. It’s ironic, because they talk
1/
about Democratic values and inclusion, yet very important positions aren’t chosen by open elections, and we don’t have access to important state offices. For ex:
- A committee picks my county health commissioner but we don’t elect the committee;
2/
It’s comprised of people elected to other positions. Positions you don’t pay much attention to, so candidates don’t really campaign, and no one really knows what they do.

- There’s no ombudsman at the state education office. There isn’t even a helpline

- If your child is

Republicans have come up w their “Commitment to America”.

GOP held the House, Senate &  WH for TWO whole yrs while TFG was in office, why didn’t they do these things then? They had the numbers!

This is another scam by GOP

apple.news/ADDqGecQ0Sd6uY…
Here’s my own opinion before the article starts …

Any name calling is ME, some words were abbreviated to save characters.
2/FIRST We know what #Rethuglicans DID do when they were in charge tho, right?

They signed the #GOPTaxScam that PERMANENTLY changed the tax brackets to lower or eliminate corp & rich ppl taxes while the so-called “tax breaks” for citizens EXPIRE in 2025!!

Ladies, remember when you were 10 years old? You were probably still playing with dolls. And the only baby you may have played with was a sibling or maybe a cousin.

She is 10 years old. She was RAPED. She became pregnant from that rape.

The GQP said it didn’t happen.

1/
They called a 10 year old CHILD a liar.

Abortions in her home state ARE BANNED & she had to seek help in a nearby state because these WRETCHED MEN banned abortions WITH NO PROVISIONS FOR RAPE AND INCEST.

This 10 year old child is really just a baby herself. She has been

Men have way too much to say about what we can and cannot do with OUR BODIES.

I, for one, AM SICK OF IT 😡

The link from @thedailyherald & conversation in @AD5NL’s 🧵 I understand, but I want to know from @MauryGOP followers on this. Does it bother you that the Mayor made a grandstanding gesture for some bogus fundraising quotes delaying @MauryCoSchools budget for the upcoming year
Just to fundraise off of something he knows can be overturned with a simple majority? Are you okay being used as a prop for his campaign as Andy demonstrates that he doesn’t care about the issues, and Andy refused to give an explanation on the actual issues inside the budget?
Has Andy ever shown that he cares for anything besides Andy? Ask yourself those questions as we enter Early voting.

SCOTUS has always been anti small d democratic. The most onerous decisions that undermine the Constitution have come from that institution. Only in the 20th Century was there a sustained period of SCOTUS rulings that uplifted the common man. /1
What coincided with that period? A 50 year run of Democratic supermajorities in both houses of Congress. In the early 20th Century SCOTUS produced a series of opinions that were anti-common man. They held that states don't have to uphold the Bill of Rights /2
They held that the Constitution does not guarantee economic rights. SCOTUS says that American citizens don't have the right to food, housing, medical care or education. However, most other countries in the world with constitutions do guarantee these rights for their citizens. /3

I’ve been on OW twice. I was denied ODSP *repeatedly* during the times I was most vulnerable, unable to fight, & needed the help. I was my only advocate as a psychiatry patient. It took 22 yrs to get my shrinks to listen to me. Since then, I’ve been employed for 6.5 yrs. 1/
I survived bc my family supplemented me. I LITERALLY had to DIAGNOSE MYSELF and then it took me 3yrs for my shrink to even consider my self-reporting. But I won...and what did I win? 2/
The right to starve to death the second any shrink decides to refuse to prescribe stimulants due to my age. I work a very physical grunt job. I’m 47. It is DESTROYING me. I finally make $19/hr. But I can’t last more than 6hrs/day. Physically or mentally. 3/

Since Ontarians are on the cusp of choosing who will lead their province and in what direction, I thought I would reprise this thread: 1/19 #OntarioVotes
Canadians, language matters. Conservatives know this. They have been deliberately changing our terms of reference for years. We have seen them reframe lobbyists as "partners", and regular folks with local concerns as "special interest groups" (negative connotation). 2/19
In this pandemic it has been even more critically important for us to consider the well-being of others. We need to recognize the community we belong to. I suggest we push-back against one of the most insidious changes to popular speech championed by conservatives. 3/19

Beto O’Rourke Removed From Texas Governor’s News Conference About School Shooting link.theepochtimes.com/mkt_app/beto-o…

Democrats are an embarrassment to the country and they have tge same mental illness as these mass shooters. Mental health needs to be addressed and that starts with a clear
Definition of what is right and wrong; what is truth and a lie. Telling people things like they can just pick what sex they are, that men can get pregnant, placing tampons in boys bathrooms is the exact opposite of fixing mental health issues. These types of things along with
99 % of the lefts ideology is the root cause of these mental health problems. Saying it is ok to rig elections make up anything no matter how untrue and damaging it is and blasting it on the news, allowing muder of babies after they have come out of the womb and calling it

On this day exactly one year ago I fell seriously ill in the evening. I had a severe headache, nausea, vertigo, and most worryingly, I couldn’t stop vomiting. My wife called the Health Direct line, and in the end an ambulance was called for me. 🧵 (1/n)
Despite trying to not overburden the ambulance and health care system, the nurse of the Health Direct line called the ambulance because I was suffering from stroke-like symptoms. The ambulance arrived promptly; I guess I was lucky not be be sick last week… (2/n)
In hospital I was assessed to see if I had a stroke. I somehow passed the neurological assessment but I had the worst headache, nausea and vertigo I have ever experienced. Those anti-nausea wafers that stop you vomiting are worth their weight in gold! (3/n)

Rick Scott and the Republicans are raving lunatics. They want to get rid of social security and Medicare. That will make a huge quantity of elderly people who live in society homeless but just about every single person who lives in a nursing home countrywide lives there due to
Medicare/medicaid and social security. So, if you stop paying for these elderly people, in some cases, don't even get out of bed, what are they planning on doing with them? And then you have every person who works for these nursing homes, from the administrator to the
Housekeepers who will lose their jobs. Yes, there are jobs available but you have some people who have worked as CNAs and nurses all of their lives. Are they now supposed to go work at McDonald's getting paid minimum wage? They are literally about to create a huge majority of

Dear MSM:

I want to know how purportedly the DEMS are facing more pressure over the conservative Judges who 🤥 to get their stolen seats on SCOTUS overturning #RoeVWade than the #rethuglicans who by🪝or by crook put them there? This some straight up BS! #11thHour #bodyautonomy
2/ #MoscowMitch & his gang of thugs stole those seats right out from under us & the so-called protest voters in 2016 started this ball rolling along w #TraitorTrump & 🇷🇺 who interfered not only in 2016 but also in 2020 elections. TFG sycophants downplayed Russian involvement
3/in both elections. They purposefully withheld info, changed intel reporting & watered down election info & the IG found DHS altered reports on Russian interference in 2020 election in part because of politics.

A few thoughts about LTNs, based on the many conversations I have had over the past months of campaigning in Islington:

- Most supporters of LTNs tend to be affluent and middle class;
- Support for LTNs is much lower in less affluent areas. Residents of these areas suffer from the shift of pollution and congestion from affluent areas to where they live;
- Support for LTNs is a great example of the concept of "Luxury beliefs". These are ideas and opinions that confer status on the well-off at little or no cost, while taking a toll on the less well off.

Marjorie Taylor Greene thinks we should all “just get over” January 6th. She said “the American people are fed up with this overdramatization of a riot that happened here at the Capitol one time. It’s over, OK.”

No, @RepMTG, it’s not over. And it’s not ok. (Thread)
January 6th of 2021 is one of the darkest days in our 246 years as an independent nation. It was a day in which a sitting President of the United States with the HELP OF SITTING REPUBLICAN MEMBERS OF CONGRESS (including MTG herself) incited a violent mob to storm the U.S. Capitol
These domestic terrorists were coordinated by white supremacist leaders, oath keepers, and former military service members turned MAGA militia who knew *exactly* what points of the Capitol were the *least* secure thanks to assistance from the *treasonous* Republicans inside it.

#TowerHamlets #LabourParty promised 2,000 NEW homes.
In 7 yrs, they managed only 10%. Meanwhile #Labour allowed for public land (inc. greenspace) to be gobbled up by private developers building thousands of overpriced shoeboxes.
Look also to what they did to @TrevesAndLister.
At least 20 Labour cllrs have had shocking performance indicators in terms of their public engagement, number of members inquiries they've initiated, value of return on investment when "Special Responsibility" xpenses are considered + the number of committees/ boards they sit on.
One cllr has been such a no show in 4 years, her ward residents believed they didn't have a cllr. Granted she had a year off for maternity but her group clearly didn't fill in for her. Furthermore, her "Special Responsibility to Young people" has not been good value for money.

Rent Control in Ontario: 🧵
@Fordnation quietly made changes to rent control in 2018, introducing new legislation scrapping rent control on new builds occupied for the 1st time after Nov. 15, 2018. What does this mean to tenants? It means if a tenant signs a lease 1/7
on a rental property that fits this description, landlord can raise the rent by any amount at any time & the LTB rules do not apply. Tenant has zero recourse - they have to decide to move, or pay the new rent. The impact of this legislation is starting to rear it's ugly head 2/7
The pandemic caused a decrease in rents, particularly in large cities as those who could work from home chose to move farther afield, or in with family for self isolation. Rents dropped. Tenants who wanted larger spaces, rented new builds. Now rents are increasing again & 3/7

Hello Marie
Thank you for sharing your concerns and opinions.

Many of the items you have requested are unlikely to be addressed before school starts on Monday.

At this time, I have not heard if there will be any change to how snacks or lunches are
administered, though I can ask at the meeting on Tuesday. You do have the option to take your child home for lunch or make alternative arrangements. Lunch supervision is a decision the Board has taken over the years. No funding is provided for this from the province.
For information on school ventilation please go to this link:
tdsb.on.ca/School-Year-20….

There are currently no plans to place CO2 monitors in classrooms.

Board staff are currently looking to see how reporting to parents can continue and I expect parents should hear about that

This is my first ever tweet. I’ve been on here for years but wasn’t sure what I wanted to say until today. So here it is: Imagine having a functional and just government in Ontario. 1/7
One that said: “our pandemic response will be rooted in protecting the most vulnerable.” One that said “children’s rights to a safe education and the population’s right to safe housing and health care are our foundational goal and every policy decision will follow from that.” 2/7
One that believed that the role of government was to better peoples’ lives, to reduce suffering, to work towards equity. A government that used its considerable resources to protect us, instead of harm us in service of corporations and the wealthy. 3/7

A few days ago - @BradHazzard told us that “the overwhelming majority of people in ICU are unvaccinated”.

But today NSW Health released its risk dashboard showing 49% of people in ICU are in fact fully vaccinated - confirming Hazzard flat out lied to us….2/ Image
You have to ask why. My guess is that it supports the LNP’s narrative of “Don’t worry about Omicron, only the unvaxed are impacted— and it’s their fault after all.”

Now - to be fair - as a percentage of population, there are way more unvaxed in ICU than vaxed…..BUT….3/
But this is just all part of the LNP’s ongoing smokescreen to prevent people from questioning them on their “do nothing” response to the pandemic.

Hopefully the media will catch on soon and start reporting on this.

Remember all the sleaze & shady goings on, including fraud, when #DougFord became PC party leader? It’s not just Ford. It’s an entire party of sleaze & those who stay quiet & enable/tacitly condone it in pursuit of power. #VoteThemAllOut2022 #ONpoli #cdnpoli
Then there was Team Ford’s use of trolls & other inauthentic behaviour online, including Jeff Ballingall’s malignant “Ontario Proud”, to smear opponents (esp Wynne) & manipulate the public, all amplified in both social & traditional media. #VoteThemAllOut2022 #ONpoli #cdnpoli
Then came the corruption, backroom deals & cuts right out of the gate. In addition to wealthy private interests dictating policy choices, including choices that led directly to suffering, cruelty & death (#LTCs, poverty etc). #VoteThemAllOut2022 #VoteFordOut2022 #ONpoli #cdnpoli
