I started to work in the UK (for @fusionenergy) on the 14/04/2014 as Senior Electrical Designer, I am now an Electrical systems design engineer.
A "#HighSkilled migrant" as they say, but not eligible to the #SettledStatus. [THREAD]

2. I will have my 5 eligible years on the 14/04/2019.
Or 16 days after #BrexitDay.
Maybe it is worth to mention that I arrived on the 01/12/2013. So I have actually my 5 years, but I have no proof.
I was joining an ex-partner to look for work in the UK, my name was not on bills.

3. Yesterday, like other fellow @The3Million, I read the following article.
"Employers will be expected to check whether EU nationals have the right to work in the UK if there is a #NoDeal #Brexit, even though it will be almost impossible to assess this".

4. I am unsure how I can prove my right to work to my employer in case of a #NoDeal scenario. They will need to be ready for #BrexitDay, so they'll have to prepare beforehand. But how?
5 months prior the deadline, @ukhomeoffice platform for the applications is still under tests!

5. I will probably have to change my phone as I have an Apple Phone, meaning that I can't apply.
If I was, I would be denied the #SettledStatus but probably granted with a #PreSettledStatus up to the 14/04.
Would that be recognised as a right to work?

6. We are the Wednesday 31st of October. Or exactly 149 days until #BrexitDay. Or 104 working days (no weekends, no bank holidays).
Let's work out how the @ukhomeoffice must have planned the management of @The3Million applications for the #SettledStatus.

7. @The3Million will represent roughly 3,600,000 applications (ish).
They will have to be processed in 104 days.
Meaning it shall be 34,615 applications to process per day.

8. With an estimation that, at the @ukhomeoffice, a working day is 8 working hours.
To process the 34,615 applications, they will have to treat 4,327 (ish) applications per hour.
Or 72 (ish) applications per minutes.
Or 83% of one application per second.

9. By the time I wrote this tweet, those numbers are out of date. 🤔
So if we come back to reality, what are our real chances for our lives to continue as before from #BrexitDay?
What will happen to us in case of a #NoDeal?

10. I lose my right to work, I will not be able to afford my mortgage and pay my car. If this is not resolved quickly, I will lose my home.
I have a pet @CharlieBSHCat, I won't be allowed to leave the country with him without an EU pet passport. What will happen to us?

11. I have a British boyfriend. Seeing how @10DowningStreet is treating the @BritishInEurope, he's not keen to be in this situation.
With all this uncertainty, he will not be able to follow me if -in the worst case scenario- if I am left with no choice but to leave home.

12. As @cliodiaspora brilliantly stated in a tweet before, @The3Million EU citizens are your people too.
And we have had enough to be treated like #bargainingchip and we did not have a voice in #EURef, unfortunately probably not in #PeoplesVote too if there is any.
