And what happened before 9/11 Sarah? The US bombing pharmaceutical factories and slaughtering total innocents. The US arming the mujahideen in Afghanistan - from which al-Qaida emerged. Sanctions on Iraq killing half a million children. US and UK selling chemical weapons to Iraq.
I mean, my God. You're the Deputy Editor of the Sunday Times... and you've never, even for a second, thought about Western foreign policy? How we arm vile regimes so they can slaughter so many? How we prop up other vile regimes and their corrupt tyranny?
Even under Obama, drones killed goodness knows how many innocent people. So tell me: if someone loses their child or their family or their friends to Western bombing raids, how do you think they feel? What do you think that does? Is your world view this shallow?
Think about what the 'arms trade' actually involves. We profit from death on industrial scales. Death of children, for God's sake. Yemen is the worst humanitarian catastrophe on planet Earth. I'm just wondering how much coverage there's been in your newspaper of our complicity.
Oh, and by the way - you know how we've got away with this for so long? Why there's so little coverage of it in Western media? It's because it just doesn't care when we bomb and kill brown people.
That's why there's such disgracefully little coverage of an Islamophobic to its very core Conservative Party or of rapidly rising hate crimes against Muslims. Muslims and brown people don't count in the British media, which you're very much part of.
Our foreign policy is racist. RACIST. And quite staggeringly counterproductive.

Terrorism is defeated by draining the swamp. Denying terrorists support and/or funding by showing the people that we're not against them. That we want them to lead good, happy lives.
Instead, we bomb them. Where does this get us? Nowhere. Nice big fat profits for the arms companies and hedge funds they're involved with though. And in Britain in 2019 - civilised country, my backside - big fat profits from death are all that count.
It has to change. It MUST change. And under Corbyn, it WILL change.
This is a famous speech by Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Try arguing with a single word of it. It is absolutely irrefutable.

And this is another great speech - which many of you won't have seen. By Dr Dahlia Wasfi. I don't agree with her on all her views; we actually fell out some years ago because of that. But this speech is absolutely magnificent and a must watch.
