Hours away to end 2019, the new stage of Syrian war has officially settled down, where politics decisions have replaced in an important way the military campaigns, mostly focused on the last terrorist reducts: (1)

2019 started as 2018 ended, #SDF continued #CizireStorm operation against last #ISIS stronghold, battle proved difficult & took 3 month to liberate the last 70 Km^2 under #ISIS control. On March 23 2019 #ISIS finally lost the last urban territories & became an insurgent group (2)

Turkish pressure had delayed any military operations in "Greater #Idlib" during 9 months since Sochi agreement. However, the continue violations of this agreement force #SAA to launch the first stage of #IdlibDawn. Between (6/5/2019-6/6/2019) #SAA liberated 134 Km^2 (3)

Another front was opened in #Latakia, in order to take Kabani, operation that continue until today without sucess due to steep terrain & good rebel defense. (4)

Despite first advances of #SAA in N.W. #Syria Turkish pressure forced new ceasefire, wich was traduced in multiple rebels counterattacks. Situation seemed to return to the initial status quo. But again the continue violations of the ceasefire forced #SAA to restart #IdlibDawn (5)

Under the name of #Tiger_fist operation (28/7/2019-30/8/2019). This operation proved to be more effective & serious with the liberation of importat rebel stronghold of Khan Sheykhun & fortifications in N. #Hama salient. (498Km^2) Now the doors of #Idlib was opened from South (6)

While Turkish pressure stooped #SAA to continue #IdlibDawn operation again, it continued to put pressure N.E. #Syria where reinforcements was arriving since months to the border as US didn't fullfill it's withdrawal promise (7)

On 6 October 2019 US announced for the 2nd time a withdrawal wich was partially materialized with the retreat of troops from the border area with Turkey. France & UK followed them later. Finally Turkish had green light to launch #PeaceSpringOperation : (8)

The operation (9/10/2019-25/11/2019) had a sucessfull beginning & big advances where made by #SNA/#TSK (3725 Km^2 ) taking advantage of Turkish military superiority in flat terrain, difficult to defend. #SDF lost an important stripe of border & two important towns (9)

Betrayed by US, #SDF finally accepted #SAA offer to enter in N.E. Syria in exchange of protection against #SNA/#TSK. For the first time in years #SAA established presence in places out of control since the first years of the war, specially the border with Turkey (10)

In the meantime, #SAA completed the preparations to launch the second phase of #IdlibDawn offensive. However Turkey continued it's politics to pressure & delayed again the operation. Despite this, #SAA made limited advances (30 Km^2) S.E. #Idlib (11)

Finally, on December 19, with the 14th round of Astana peace talks, green light was given to the Syrian army & #Op_Redemption3 was launched with an initial sucess after liberate 373 km^2 & still ongoing until today, aiming to retake important M5 highway (12)

In 2019 #SAA liberated 1033,8 Km^2 & entered in 5950 Km^2 in N.E. part of the country recovering presence in 65% of #Syria. Now Syrian government control most of border area with Turkey & new strategic places such as bases & roads in #Idlib, #Hasakah & #Raqqa governorates (13)

#SDF won 70 Km^2 finally securing Eastern side of Euphrates. However, after Turkish operation, party lost 3725 Km^2 included two important border towns & many villages & now controls 25% of the country. But still have presence in Oil fields & big strip of border with #Iraq (14)

Opposition forces lost 1033,8 Km^2 due to #IdlibDawn operation. However, #PeaceSpringOperation (Rebels won 3725 Km^2) gaves them an oportunity not only to hold terrritory but enter in areas out of their control since years (15)

2020 will focus on 3 main points:
#Insurgence: Despite #ISIS defeat, insurgence still very active all over the country, #SAA & #SDF will continue it's antiterrorist ops, specially in desert areas, where militants have an important presence. #Daraa could go into the plans too (16)

#Idlib: #SAA will continue their offensives N.W. Syria. The process will be slow due to politic pressure but its expected to accelerate as Turkey didn't fullfill Sochi agreement & the area continue to be the last #HTS stronghold of the country & the military priority of #SAA (17)

E. #Syria: After Turkish operation #SDF lost important role that had before & now influence zones were established between Turkey, Russia & U.S. #SDF & Syrian government
slowly aproaches & small agreements were made but still a long way to reach a final solution & end this war
