Chinese state media are ramping up a new #Propaganda narrative: that #COVID19 originated in the United States.

The #GlobalPandemic began in #Wuhan, capital of #China’s #HubeiProvince, where thousands have died of the disease.

Several Chinese state media outlets published wrong translations of an exchange between US @RepHarley Rouda and @CDCDirector Redfield to insinuate that Redfield admitted to people dying of the #CCPVirus earlier in the flu season in the US.

The Chinese Communist Party (#CCP) has also ramped up its #Propaganda efforts by attempting to paint a picture that #Beijing is effectively handling the outbreak. theepochtimes.com/chinese-regime…

In fact, since the #CoronavirusOutbreak began, @EpochTimes has received numerous internal documents showing that the official reports do not match the actual events on the ground in #China.

#Beijing has also pushed the narrative that its efforts to contain the #CCPvirus bought the international community time to prepare.

“This whole notion of China being beneficial to helping the world is misguided and indeed dangerous,” says Author and #China expert @GordonGChang.

It is well-documented that the #CCP censored discussion of the #CoronavirusOutbreak as early as October of 2019.

Vice director at #China’s foreign ministry Zhao Lijian wrote on social media: “When did patient zero begin in [sic] US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals?”

He went on to suggest that it “might be [sic] US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan.”

After his comments, @StateDept summoned #China’s ambassador Cui Tiankai.

According to a State Dept official, Cui was “very defensive” and the #CCP was attempting to evade criticism over its role in “starting a global pandemic and not telling the world.” theepochtimes.com/us-summons-chi…

“Spreading conspiracy theories is dangerous and ridiculous. We wanted to put the government on notice we won’t tolerate it for the good of the Chinese people and the world,” the official told @Reuters.

On March 15, @WHNSC confronted a “deliberate effort by a foreign entity” to ignite fears of a nationwide quarantine.

At a March 16 #CoronavirusTaskForce press briefing, President Trump acknowledged there could be some “foreign groups that are playing games” but said it didn’t matter as he wasn’t implementing a nationwide lockdown.

The 4 senators—@SenatorRisch, @SenJohnBarrasso, @MarcoRubio, and @SenCoryGardner—said that reliable information, whether from the US government, #Health experts, or other channels, is crucial to protect the public from the #CCPVirus threat.

The US can combat the #Disinformation “by fighting CCP lies with the truth,” he said.

Now, #Chinese officials and state run media have amplified #ConspiracyTheories, most recently pushing claims that the origin of the #CCPVirus isn’t clear, or that it came from the @USArmy, and that the #CCP’s containment efforts bought time for the rest of the world to prepare.

Anther narrative gaining traction in US media is that calling the outbreak the #WuhanVirus is #Racist, despite the fact that Chinese state-run media have used the term themselves.
