Quick thread on @TYT:

Ashlee Marie Preston and TYT finally come clean about Ashlee being a Warren campaign surrogate. For some reason, TYT still has her co-hosting despite not disclosing this earlier.

FTR, I'm completely fine with having campaign surrogates occasionally... discuss and even advocate for their candidate's concerns or other related topics. But Ashlee is hired to co-host entire episodes and has repeatedly shifted the conversation to Warren and away from the topic of the segment, as evidenced here on this one about Bernie.
Then she does it again here after Ana shifts the conversation back to progressive voters and where they get their news.

@Superciliously @cmclymer If you're sincerely asking, I will sincerely answer, but will take a few tweets. I'll come back to this when I'm at my computer (easier to type out there than on my phone). ✌🙂
@Superciliously @cmclymer Ok, so let's go back before the 2016 elections. I don't have a date for this, but given that she's wearing the bob haircut she first became known for during the financial crisis, it's most likely sometime circa 2008-2011. Here she is, praising #Bernie2020's integrity. 1/?
@Superciliously @cmclymer Here she is in 2002 on Bill Moyers, talking about HRC's help (as FLOTUS) in having stopped a bill that Warren was sounding the alarm on. Yrs later, Senator Clinton voted in favor of that same bill that came back up again. Listen to her explanation... 2/?

Feeling nostalgic lately about all the coverage the #Bernie2020 campaign has received from the MSM this year. Their integrity and in depth reporting has been inspirational to watch as the year has unfolded🙃

Join me as I reflect on some of the greatest #BernieSlanders of 2019 📸
No better place to start than with the reputable Washington Post and their #1 fact checker Glenn Kessler slamming Bernie for his claim that 3 families own more than the bottom 1/2 of the US combined. To be fair, he spoke for the WRONG 1/2, as THEY are "not especially meaningful"
Luckily, Glen's supporters were there to back him up 🤣
Thanks Gary, Glen, and the Washington Post for staying strong in your support for Team #BernieSlanders

You have revealed a lot of truths this past year, in your own unique way...

I’m committed to supporting Bernie. That’s why I’m disappointed to witness attacks between some supporters of @BernieSanders and @ewarren. We can advance the movement by following their leads and embracing potential allies rather than attacking them. Thread. /1
@BernieSanders @ewarren We should respect the strategy demonstrated by both Bernie and Liz to stand together against centrists, instead of tearing out each other’s throats before the primary. They’ve consistently declined opportunities to attack each other in the debates. /2
@BernieSanders @ewarren There are legit critiques of Warren. I share them, while supporting her as someone following Bernie’s lead on domestic policy and reinforcing his vision & leadership. For instance, Liz stands well to Bernie’s right, especially on foreign policy. /3

I think the BEST thing to happen yesterday is that more people on the Sanders team are now pushing back on that “essentially the same” narrative regarding the differences between Sanders and Warren. This, at a time where it’s increasingly clear that we need to.
These are a few of the things that I saw being posted:

1: Sanders did show up for Standing Rock protestors. Warren did not, instead boxing support for the pipeline workers to continue to work, which would destroy Native land (and our) water supply.

#Sanders2020 #Warren2020
2: Sanders will not receive corporate cash in the primary nor in the general. Warren has already taken corporate cash via a prior election cycle, and will accept corporate cash in the general.

So many people will never know what its like to be pain free or worry free because of the status of their health.
I wanna talk about why it means so much to me that @BernieSanders has fought so hard for me and you to have what we need to be healthy.
Ive never had anyone truly fight for me for anything.
I know a lot of people that have health issues. From their teeth to arthritis to a heart condition.
They dont deserve to live like that simply because theyre poor. Theyre people
When I found Bernie, healthcare didnt matter to me. None of the issues he was fighting for did. I had never voted and wasnt super interested in politics. Things stayed that way for a while. Young and having fun you know?
Then it happened

Okay, here's #MyBernieStory:
I went to college because you HAD to have a degree to make it in the world. $80k later, I have to live with my Mom, because my $1,200 rent payment is going to my loans instead. I can't default because my Mom co-signed. I WILL NOT destroy her credit!(1
...Plus it's impossible to declare bancruptcy anyways. I've worked for a non-profit for ~8 years hoping to get some of my loans forgiven. Turns out 99% who try that fail. So, with interest rates at 14% and ALWAYS rising, I will NEVER pay them off. (2
And that's not for lack of trying. I work a full time job on weekdays, cater as a 2nd on weekends and housesit for all my coworkers and friends consistently for extra cash in my "spare time." I am using my grandparents old car (blessed) & would be completely HOSED without it. (3

This is Day 2 of my mission to convince Bernie supporters of why an Andrew Yang presidency would be better for them and their families’ wellbeing. Yesterday, I spoke about financial security. Today, I will go at length about education [Thread]
Let’s start by acknowledging the extent of both candidates’ education plans. Bernie’s publicly known plans for education are to introduce universal pre-k, tax-payer funded tuition for public universities, cancelling all student debt, and throwing wads of cash at the k-12 system
Andrew also supports universal pre-K, but is ardently against free college. Instead, he opts to give everyone a Universal Basic Income, drastically lower the cost of college of those who want to go, cancel much of the student debt, and make structural change to the k-12 system

@ZellaQuixote A duo of extremely similar real estate bots (@RealtorFairfax and @FairfaxVAAgent) were the first two automated accounts to retweet the preceding tweet. Based on a brief jaunt through their timelines, they seem more focused on retweeting political hashtags than real estate.
@ZellaQuixote @RealtorFairfax @FairfaxVAAgent The third bot retweet comes to us courtesy of @BernieBot_2020, which retweets various Sanders-related hashtags (#Bernie2020, #FeelTheBern, #NotMeUS, and #NoMiddleGround.) We've run across it before.

I'm going to quote something I saw on Reddit about Yang's UBI & put it into a Twitter thread.

This way I can bookmark it and use @threadreaderapp to unroll it, not to mention make reference use of it.

So away we go!

Here is the question posted on the Reddit forum "SandersForPresident".

Answer --

Well first of all, Yang argued with Bernie. Bernie was just answering a question asked during an interview. First off let's talk about the pitfalls of Yang's vision for UBI and how that would impact us. Yang wants to implement UBI

@BernieSanders @GabbyQuinteros How did I get to the point of finally pulling the trigger for the senior Senator from Vermont?

Two years of progress by him, and one night of being pushed over the cliff by his detractors.

An explanation follows.
@BernieSanders @GabbyQuinteros For the past 3 years, I've been more of an understanding critic of Senator Sanders from the Indy Left. There were things that I liked from him, like his economic populism and his legacy of being a social progressive...

I usually don't play the veteran card, but I'm gonna play it here. #MyBernieStory has to do with why I joined the USAF. I want to live in a country where the oath I took means something, that rights for all are guaranteed,
that we are self governing, and that our elected officials aren't bought by lobbyists or corporations. I want our tax dollars to fund programs that benefit the masses, not fund tax cuts for the billionaires.
As a disabled veteran with a 100% rating, I am guaranteed not single payer but universal health care and a free education. I believe that if the government can manage that for me, it can manage it for all.

Fam, we need to have a talk about Bernie & Tulsi.
I realize this may lose me a few followers but it must be said.

Can we all just please knock off the bullshit about Bernie & Tulsi already, please? They're friends and allies. Now some of you may not like that.
#Bernie2020 /1
The reality is Tulsi & Bernie have worked together in the past and once Tulsi drops out, she will be giving Bernie her delegates.

Some of you seem to be down in a hole with this & can't see the forest through the trees. #Bernie2020 /2
This is a PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, not a dick measuring contest between Tulsi & Bernie. Those of you trashing Tulsi are actually hurting Bernie & his campaign. You need to keep your eyes on the prize here. We need allies, we need votes in the general! #Bernie2020 /3

All of the things that Russia didn't make @KamalaHarris do...

A thread:
Harris talks the talk, but why does her record speak to terrible policies that disproportionately affected people of color and poor folks?

Why did she fight to keep civil asset forfieture in place?
Why did she neglect to prosecute Treasury Sec Steve Mnuchin, during the foreclosure crisis, when he was running OneWest and was responsible for thousands losing their homes due to shady practices? (He's our damn Treasury Secretary, now, ffs)
Why didn't she course correct when she saw that her truancy efforts were causing harm, to mostly minority women?

Why did she fight so hard to keep wrongful convictions in place?

How many times has she flip-flopped in the past few weeks?

We started looking at automated activity (and potentially other aspects of) tweets containing various #<candidate first or last name>2020 hashtags (e.g., #Warren2020, #Kamala2020, #Bernie2020, etc.) We examined tweets from Jan 1st - July 3rd, 2019.

cc: @ZellaQuixote
Looking more closely at the 2020 hashtags that have both a significant percentage (we used 10% as a cutoff, 3%-ish is average) of automated activity and at least 1000 tweets, we see sizable volume for tweets posted via VK (Russian Facebook-esque social network.) What's the deal?
The VK activity in the 2020 hashtags comes from 21 very similarly-named accounts. Account names are the display name with "Im" prepended (e.g., "Alberta Swift" = "@ImAlbertaSwift.) All tweets were posted via VK, and none tweeted before 2018 (despite some being created in 2015.)

Why I support bernie Sanders as an Iraqi : I grew up in a war torn country all my life . I started being conscious to the world with the invasion of my country in 2003. I had my childhood upbringing during the 2007 civil war. And my teenage years during ISIS rising in 2014 1/
During those years there’s one constant theme, Confusion. I was a young kid who couldn’t understand anything and why all of these things happened. During ISIS war I had a deep depression because I was confused about life and my purpose in it 2/
Seeing Isis flags couple 100s of meters away from me shook me to my core. The stories of fleeing families from areas controlled by Isis and the genocide of over 2000 cadet in speicher camp. Almost losing my brother and father in 2 bombs attack on the Masjid near our home 3/

Thread regarding #Sanders2020

1. Folks think Bernie was selfish for running in '16. I'm NOT one of them. I think he knew the American people weren't going to vote for HRC, & understood clearly the threat that Trump was to this country & the world; & wanted to inspire us.
2. For 4 decades Bernie's message has been consistent. He has ALWAYS been #ForThePeople. He has NEVER sold out. Is he perfect? No, there is no perfect human being, but he's definitely the best we have in the field without question.
3. I think Bernie looked at his options & did an unselfish thing. I think it's why the 2016 campaign struggled. This time around I am prouder than ever to support his campaign & actually volunteering. I don't know how safe our elections are, if they'll cheat, but I have to try.

Senator Bernie Sanders stands out among all the Parties! He has consistently been on the People's side. Despite being cheated in 2016, he exhibits strong leadership and a conviction to help our Country become healthy, environmentally secure, and financially stable. (1, continued)
His vision for the United States is shared by hard working Americans. He has seen/worked around the Machine, he stands strong against the Man in Office, and most importantly... He listens to us. (2, end)
