@IndoPac_Info @helix_golden @CollinSLKoh The area in the map you posted is TECHNICALLY in dispute. But there is zero chance that an eventual EEZ is going to extend farther than the median line VN already adopted for the continental shelf boundary and Hanoi knows it.
@IndoPac_Info @helix_golden @CollinSLKoh So I'd argue that the UNCLOS requirement for both sides to take provisional steps to manage disputes pending a final delimitation means VN has an obligation to not encourage its fishers to go to an area it KNOWS will ultimately belong to ID
@IndoPac_Info @helix_golden @CollinSLKoh The area north of the continental shelf boundary extending to the median line being claimed by ID is different. That could ultimately go either way and so there's no bad faith involved in both sides fishing there
