1. #Turkey is affiliated with both #ISIS & Al-#Qaeda. Congress should give @RTErdogan days to begin full withdrawal from all of Northern Syria: Afrin to Sere Kaniye. Barring it Turkey's economy & war making power must be sanctioned. @NATO must be anti-imperialist to survive.

2. Turkey's strategic objectives in the invasion were to free #Daesh, seize oil & gas and Syrian territory. The US, Russian and SAA redeployment prevented them from achieving the first two objectives so they were left with just seizing territory, committing mass murder,

3. pillage and genocide.

Since 2014, I have closely observed the #YPG & #YPJ initially and then watched the formation of the #SDF, a combined #Arab, #Christian & #Kurdish force. #SDF is a liberation force. They do no acts consistent with terrorism and only people who need fear

4. them are the terrorists. Turkey under Erdogan is a terrorist state so it fears the #SDF.

The Turkish people have just cause to want an end to the 40 years of warfare in the East. But so do the #Kurds. Turkey will never find peace without recognizing Kurdish indigenous right

5. to a reasonable degree of self-rule. The goal for Turkey and the PKK should be to resolve the Bakur conflict. But the PKK is not the SDF that is a majority Arab force. Turkey's continued attacks on the SDF just reinforces the unreasonableness of Turkey's position and that it

6. seeks both Kurdish and Christian genocide.

Now we see that the war is spreading beyond the east into the other areas of Turkey. The UN needs to act now to bring the parties to the table. Though, like Nelson Mandela, he is likely speaking an anachronistic language of the

7. past struggle, one person who is not seeking an independent Kurdish state is the PKK leader Apo. If he dies in custody, even of age, this war may never end. The Turks must accept that the Kurds were there first and will always retain their culture and desire for self-rule.

9. Congress is going to force @POTUS @RealDonaldTrump to accept the sanctions. If @SecPompeo does not act to attempt to resolve the conflict he should step down and allow the professionals in the @StateDept to seek to bring an end to it.

10. Remember, you make peace with your enemies, not your friends. The world and Syrian people have seen enough war in Syria. Turkey needs to end its imperial advance or be subject to crushing sanctions. It's coming. If the AKP can't act to seek peace it and Erdogan have to go.
