$QQQ Image

Tip from $SPRY is often on #smallcap tickers that get consolidated for while (2h+) and are rigged on lower liquidity/volumes they'll swipe both sides of ranges. Expect that once first side is swiped they will soon go after other ITM liquidity that hasn't been swiped yet.

1.
This is distinctive from strong liquid tickers where they won't necessarily swipe the downside if they swiped upside first. In many such cases they'll just swipe upside and keep going into squeeze. This makes statistical difference based on cycle and liqiidity conditions.

2.
Some realtime notes y'day from $SPRY and why south wash was likely to come at that point for short trade.

As per Richa Agarwal, editor of our smallcap recommendation service Hidden Treasure, a huge structural shift is unfolding in the Indian economy that could create significant wealth for companies in India, and for the investors in them. Here's more from Richa:
India is undergoing structural shift that could benefit many Indian companies across sectors. I’m referring to the shifting supply chains in the post-pandemic era. These shifts were always happening but at a much gradual place. They have picked up the pace for three key reasons.
First- During and post Covid, the global companies with over-reliance on one supplier, specifically China, saw their supply chains breaking, and their prospects dwindling. With this shake up, the corporates are consciously deciding to diversify and broaden outsourcing.

$SPX has been trapped in a Noise Box for the past 14 days

As at other times patience pays: whichever side SPX breaks out of the box will be followed by a big move

A great trading opportunity

👁️👁️Volume has been higher on bullish days and SPX closed above 20DMA

#SPX #ES $SPY
We should look at the indices that have led the recent moves up and down: $DJI, $IWM, $DJT, #S5TH.

The #DJI has a more defined Noise Box. It broke out of it last Friday, and did so on higher volume, closing above 50DMA and 20DMA. Bullish, DJI should continue up on Monday
$SPX
$DJT has as $DJI a more defined Noise Box. It broke out of it yesterday in higher volume, closing above 20DMA, and like $SPX rigth at the 50DMA

The general look of this chart is bullish short term, so a continuation rally is on the menu for next week

In the last thread we had seen total 116 stocks in marketcap range 500cr to 1000cr, lets have a try with basic fundamental approach and check
what is the result.
3
ATH: All time high, 40 stocks out of 116 were not able to make fresh all time high after 2012. Some of them generated returns from 2012,
but they were not able to breach their previous ATH. Eg: Sanwaria, Uttam Galva Steel, mercator.

1 New to investing?

2 Confused by #fintwit jargon?

3 Do we trust people presenting “valuation” to know what they don't know?

Equity = Assets - Liabilities

But what asset and liability values are we going to use?

The answer as always: it depends on what we are going to use it for.

Here is a summary of equity metrics, from the most conservative:

2/X
Price/”Net-Net” Working Capital (P/NNWC)

Classic Graham/Dodd strategy

Assumes: Use only most liquid current assets, deduct subjective discounts.

Conditions (often missed in screens):
1) Not consuming assets (melting ice cube/negative cash-flow)
2) Historical profitability

The space where institutions don’t own any shares, or own insignificant part of the equity maybe the GoTo place for new ideas.

If you can find five to seven good companies in the next two years and buy enough of them, you are going to remember this phase all your life.

1/5
Why should you not look at companies with heavily institutionalised ownership? Simple. Institutions will be forced to change their portfolios in tthe next two years. They will be forced to sell down their weaker, non performing stock holdings and buy newer stock ideas. 2/5
By not buying stocks which are heavily institutionally owned, you will avoid facing the brutal selling and seeing your portfolio value go down very badly. This risk is real in illiquid stocks especially in #smallcap and #midcap space. Escape the drawdown and steer to safety. 3/5

Lot of #AMCs come up with different ideas, themes, sectors.

These are demands from #Investors as they have done well in recent past.

AMCs are manufacturers & will offer what is in demand.

Final choice to say YES or NO lies entirely with Investors based on their #NEEDs
What should investors choose and what should they ignore. A point by point guide on where and why to invest in certain #themes, #MarketCap bias, #Sectors, #AssetClasses etc.

What should be criteria for these selections and what should guide them to resist from Investing?
Lets start with #Debt:

Keep enough money as 1 year of your expenses as #EmergencyFunds in #LiquidSchemes

You already have enough exposure to debt as:

1. #PPF
2. #TaxFreeBonds
3. #FDs

No need for separate debt allocation if you are investing thru #AssetAllocation (AA) or #DAAF

#NFIB data says we are only in a #recovery, not an #economic expansion.
While the NFIB data doesn't get much #media attention, it should as it tells you much about what is really happening in the #economy.
realinvestmentadvice.com/macroview-nfib…
Reason I pay attention to #NFIB
Sept 2019 - Data rings alarm bells on #recession.
April 2020 - Data says recession arrived.
May 2020 - Data says #economic recovery not as strong as media suggests.

If businesses were expecting a massive surge in “#pentup#demand, they would prepare for it. Such includes #planning to increase #capex to meet expected demand. Unfortunately, those expectations peaked in 2018 and are dropping back to the March 2020 lows.

Last week, a fantastic episode on the Meb Faber Show with @verdadcap and @MebFaber highlighted several market observations and contrarian insights. 👏👏👏

#markets #smallcap #investing

Here is my summarized list of 20 highlights from the episode: 🧵💡👇

1) Verdad’s core investment strategy remains focused on “private equity replication”, which primarily invests in public equities that are “small in size, cheap in valuations, and financially leveraged”.

Verdad grew its AUM from ~$50M in 2018 to ~$600M in AUM today.
2) Between the beginning of Q4 2018 and the end of Q1 2020, micro-cap value and small-cap value indices suffered one of the worst market environments in history.

Here’s some clarity re #KR1’s share register:

Nominee co’s are set up by major brokers/custodians/etc. to aggregate individual sharehldgs, both large & small...eg in reality, Vidacos does NOT own a 25.5% stake.

And no, #WarrenBuffett does NOT have a direct/indirect hldg in KR1!
This nominee system does NOT absolve individual/inst’l investors of req’t to report major 3%+ stakes & any significant chg in hldgs...which you can track via #KR1 RNS:

investegate.co.uk/Index.aspx?sea…

Ideally, KR1 wd also break out these stakes (on a look-through) basis for investors...
And I highlighted major #KR1 stakes in my Nov post:

wexboy.wordpress.com/2020/11/21/kr1…

Largest hldg belongs to KR1 team itself (& Smaller Co Capital)...tht’s 15%+ in KR1’s fully diluted share capital.

That does NOT inc. 80% of their 2020 bonus to be granted in shares...

The @NFIB #survey doesn't get much #media attention, but it should. Small businesses make up almost 70% of #employment and their #confidence tells us much about the #economy and #smallcap stocks.
realinvestmentadvice.com/nfib-survey-se…
In December, the #NFIB survey declined to 95.9 from a peak of 108.8. Notably, many suggest the drop was “#politically driven” by #conservative owners. While there was indeed a drop following the election, the decline continues what started in 2018.
realinvestmentadvice.com/nfib-survey-se…
Hopes for a #strong #economic recovery may be premature. While #stimulus will give a short-term lift to the economy, once it is spent, growth fades. Businesses won't #invest into artificial supports.

#TweetStorm - A Quick take on the new #SEBI circular. 1) The new rule states that a Multicap Fund needs to have 25% in #LargeCaps, 25% in #Midcaps. 25% in #Smallcaps. This needs to be aligned before January 2021.
Data Source - MoneyControl 2) The Total AUM of the Multi-Cap Funds is 1.53 lakh crores. 25% allocation to #Smallcap =38300 crores. Current Allocation= 11240 Crores. Potential Buying or Difference to be Aligned = 27062 crores.
3) Why is everyone going mad about it in #Whatsapp and #Twitter. Total Market Cap of 251st to 500th Company is 9 lakh crores. 27000 Cr implies 3% of Equity. In many of smallcaps promoters own 50-75%. That's like 10% of float buying theoretically. Source - AMFI.

#Periodic Call Auction for Illiquid Scrips was brought in Feb-March 2013 put a lot of illiquid stocks in JAIL where trades happened once in an hour. It was reversed in December 2013. #BSESmallcapIndices made a new low in August 2013. nooreshtech.co.in/2013/04/period…
Deja Vu 2018 the target now is Liquid Scrips which have a lot of volumes and have gone up !! How many different ways regulators can find to trouble the system !! Some more stocks will keep getting added/deleted. Hopefully, like before the measures get reversed in next few months.
Another regulation is the #Smallcap, #Midcap, #LargeCap Classification wherein now the Regulator will decide the Universe for Mutual Funds and keep coming out with classification every 6 months which depends on price moves !!! Another pain to the system.
