Colorado can reduce electricity cumulatively save $1.8 billion by 2040. At the same time, it can grow the electricity job market by 70,000 and reduce GHG emissions by 75% from 2005 levels.

@holycrossenergy @IREAcoop @DrChrisClack @achoukulkar
It can do all this by:
1) Coordinating transmission planning across Colorado;

2) Designing transmission tariffs and access spread across Colorado;

#transmission Transmission topology between utilities and cooperatives acr
3) Ensuring all utilities and cooperatives join the same Energy Imbalance Market (best for whole US is when all CO joins the WEIM);

4) Deploy wind, solar, and storage throughout Colorado;

5) Sell the excess Coloradan wind and solar to other states in the West.

Hey #bced with @Rob_Fleming citing class averages as evidence that there isn't as big an issue as teachers say, we need to understand some enrolment management averages and why the stat seems so different than the experience of teachers. /1

@tracysherlock @jodyvance @steeletalk
BC definitely has some small classes. This is most often found in small towns. But also specialized programs like those for kids who are at risk of not graduating or who have high needs. /2
But let's think about this in theory. The class size average is meaningless in setting up public policy around distancing. Here's why:

1. I can't move kids from a Surrey high school class of 30 to the school in New Denver that has 9 kids per class.

I’m thinking a lot about travel to see family. Both from a personal (I live abroad) and work perspective I’m fascinated by what the future will mean for our ability to live far from family. I’ve been spoiled by cheap flights and easy border controls. #Thread with no conclusions.
I made my choice to live abroad on a number of reasons. Some have changed over the years. The ability to hop on a flight and see family easily has remained a constant. We also take an annual trip with @mamadespoina and my sister. Again. Cheap flights - open borders.
Why I know that proximity to family is important to me? Cause every time I think of moving further away (let’s say to Asia) the distance from family seems prohibitive. Maybe I’m wrong but it feels so... final.

A thread on some quotes from @gautambhatia88’s “The transformative constitution “In equality jurisprudence, the approach of focusing on the disproportionately exclusionary impact if politics rather than their formal character or motive is known as disparate impact”
“It is based on the premise that inequality and discrimination result not (only) from individual hostile acts, but from structures and institutions.” @gautambhatia88 Only in brackets important & added by me.
An test for entry may be “neutral” but yet exclude by aligning with exclusionary institutions; if an physical entrance test for firefighter includes activities not necessary for fulfilling duties and unintentionally poses #gender-barriers, deserves to be struck down. #NoteToSelf

I listen to ~90 #Podcasts on a (semi) regular basis. Let me give you a rundown of ALL of them and why you should listen to some amazing #FOAMed, especially for all the new #EmergencyMedicine interns. #FOAMed #MedEd #medtwitter
First of all, you need a good podcast app. I absolutely love Downcast. Great app, gives you more control over playback, downloading, and allows you to categorize your podcasts into playlists (picture 2). This is where you get to customize your #FOAMed experience! #medtwitter

A note on #abortions

The woman's right to choose whether or not to terminate her pregnancy is a fundamental substantive due process right drawn from the Bill of Rights that protects the privacy & autonomy of the woman. Any assault on that by special interests or States is a
violation against the Constitution of the United States. #RoeVWade has long been virtually obsolete in the sense that in that case the woman's right to choose was plenary. Meaning, she could have an abortion whenever she wanted during the pregnancy. The Supreme Court has since
created significant boundaries around this right by saying that a woman's right to choose is plenary up until the fetus becomes viable. By viable SCOTUS meant the fetus could be kept alive outside the mother's womb through medical technology. Once the fetus reaches that point,
