1.#Erdogan's op-ed - masterpiece of communication effort in hostile info-environment,the lobbysts who worked on it deserve credit for understanding psychology of Western reader&current political discourse in #US which helps them pick arguments urbi et orbi

2. Endorsment: #Erdogan basically argues #Trump is right in his decision to depart #Syria but it should be done in a smat way to meet "interests of US, international cummunity & Syrians" => shout out to both Trump's conservative constituency & liberals: "TUR cares about YOU"

3. Persuasion:#Erdogan conveys two basic set of arguments:
(1) #Turkey is sole player that can lay claim to "American Succession" in #Syria, It's loyal,combat-capabale #NATO member safeguarding its southern borders from #ISIS terrorists&also concerned over "some outside powers"..

4. ..and the only one who works both with #US & #Russia sitting on Geneva & Astana chairs - shout out to Atlatists (hey,we too are concerned w/ #Moscow & tehran but also placating #Putin - you need us in dialogue with the West).

5. (2) #Turkey too is victim of #ISIS, #Erodgan is their personal sworn enemy,thus the policy to finish them has a deep personal dimention to #Ankara - this meant to dimiss arguments of those criticizing #Ankara for collaboration with tettorists.

6. Reprimanding: #Erdogan makes 3 pokes in the #US eye:
1.Unlike you #Turkey knows how to operate carefully (points on destruction of Raqqa,Mosul & preservation of Al Bab);|
2.Unlike you TUR has "comperehnsive strategy"
3. You didn't learn lessons of #Iraq/i campaing but we did..

7. ...this should fly well with nationalists at home & make skeptics of their own governments in #US, #West nod in reluctant agreement

8.Reassurance;#Turkey is not what they picture us. It hosted Christians,Yezidis when they fled from #ISIS,it's no enemy to #Kurds & those who joined #YPG just prodigal kids,they'll be accomodated. But don't foget they are branch of #PKK which BTW #US deems terrorists too

9.Encouragement:#Syria fatigue is what #West feels & #Turkey feels it.#Erdogan's message - don't worry,we know how to handle it, go back to doing your Western things like on-line shopping ,our advisers will work w/ local councils,etc. And, no, TUR won't trick you (last paragraph)

10. Clearly,those working on the subject can find tons of counter-arguments to each of these points.But to those who don't it may look convincing + @realDonaldTrump,@SecPompeo now have clearly articulated talking points on why #US willing to outsource #Syria to #Turkey.

11. Part II of the show will take place soon when #Erodgan comes to see #Putin in #Russia. He will sure use most of the same arguments just worded the other way round to convince #Moscow it should allow for more Turkish freedom of movement in #Syria. Stay tuned.
