Why did Lavrov suddenly visit the WH?

Post his meeting with Trump & Pompeo the Treasury Dept scrubbed 3 RU COs tied to Yakubets the alleged leader of the Evil Corp. hacking crew, from the 12/5 sanctions list

Yakubets is the hacker behind the Dridex malware.
🚨SanctionRelief2🚨

Yakubets also has provided direct assistance to the Russian government’s “malicious cyber efforts, highlighting the Russian government’s enlistment of cybercriminals for its own malicious purposes,” the Treasury Department said in a statement on 12/5
🚨SanctionRelief2🚨

12/5 The DOJ charged Maksim Yakubets & Igor Turashev with involvement in the dev’t & distribution of the malicious software known as Bugat.

Bugat is a predecessor to Dridex, a banking malware strain that has haunted int’l victims for more than eight years,

Yakubets also was involved with Zeus, another pernicious hacking tool.

Both suspects remain at large in Russia.

The indictment against Yakubets and Turashev is in conjunction with U.S. sanctions against Evil Corp, which the TD says is the criminal org.

Panel Approves Impeachment Articles and Sends Charges for a House Vote

The House Judiciary Committee voted over Republican objections to advance two articles of impeachment accusing Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Trump Has a Sordid History of Accepting, Requesting, and Encouraging Foreign Interference in US Elex.

There’s a straight line between the RU & UKR scandals.

“[T]he impeachment inquiry has found that President Trump, personally and acting through agents
🚨SanctionRelief7🚨

Within & outside of the US gov’t, solicited the interference of a foreign gov’t, UKR, to benefit his re-election.”

DEMs place Trump’s Ukrainian caper within the larger context of foreign intervention in US elex, namely RU’s covert attack on the 2016 contest.
🚨SanctionRelief7🚨

Which was mounted in part to help Trump win the WH: “we were struck by the fact that the President’s misconduct was not an isolated occurrence, nor was it the product of a naïve president.

Instead, the efforts to involve UKR in our 2020 presidential elex.
🚨SanctionRelief8🚨

Were undertaken by a President who himself was elected in 2016 with the benefit of an unprecedented and sweeping campaign of election interference undertaken by Russia in his favor, and which the President welcomed and utilized.”
🚨SanctionRelief9🚨

The point was clear.

Trump muscling Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to produce political dirt that could influence the 2020 election for Trump’s personal advantage was a continuation of Trump’s behavior in 2016.
🚨SanctionRelief10🚨

This contextualization brings back into the spotlight Vladimir Putin’s clandestine assault on American democracy—and how Trump encouraged and exploited that attack.

Trump aided & abetted a foreign adversary’s scheme to subvert the 2016 US election

One thing is for sure, Trump will be impeached next week.

We have only seen the tip of the scatberg that is #Ukrainegate, #TurkeyGate, #MEgate, #KushGate #RNCGOPgate, #NRAgate, #Russiagate & so much more.

My guess is Pelosi will wait until more indictments fall.
