1) The #Oxfam prostitution scandal does not surprise me. I was raised all over the world by frontline aid workers and am used to the humanitarian industry being staffed by bizarre, narcissistic people.

2) I think the sector attracts damaged people. It is not normal to run towards war and famine and the most degenerate aspects of human behaviour , yet this is precisely what they do. Run towards it, devote their lives to it and gorge themselves on the spectacle.
3) And they live absurd, rootless lifestyles – moving country every few years and/or always willing to rush off to the next headline disaster area.

Normal, healthy people put down roots. They invest in a place, in people, in a community, in a culture.

It's worth pointing out that there wasn't some massive conspiracy by #Oxfam to cover up the scandal. As soon as the allegations came to light the charity launched a full internal inquiry. 3/14
