1) Empêché de travailler suite au coup d’Etat militaire au Brésil, Oscar Niemeyer (communiste) s’exile en Europe en 1967, puis à l’invitation du président Houari #Boumediene, s’installe à #Alger en 1969 où il passera 6 ans de sa vie jusqu’en 1975.
2) Le Pdt Boumediène demande à Niemeyer de développer un urbanisme qui donnera au monde une vision moderne de l’Algerie, en rupture avec l’architecture coloniale française. Jason Oddy a séjourné en 2013 en Algérie pour 📸 cet héritage architectural moderniste.

1) What is the logic behind the CBAM? The EU introduced ambitious decarbonization measures for its industry=> risk of carbon leakage (companies shifting production to more tolerant jurisdictions) => industrial exodus from EU with major socio-economic impact & no climate impact.
But what does the evidence say about this assumption? The European Commission's own assessment of the impact of the CBAM is not conclusive but theorizes that more ambition may result in more carbon leakage.
