Attending @FboroFriday, we're inspired by #aerospace industry leaders and know one thing for certain: the future of aerospace is all about collaboration 🤝

Thanks for having us #FIAConnect!

After an insightful week at @FIAFarnborough, we wanted to share a few of our highlights:
We really enjoyed the #sustainability in #aerospace session: Dr Cristina Garcia-Duffy, Head of Technology – Strategy and Integration at @UKAeroInstitute, shared the ATI market outlook and the aircraft that will be coming into the market between 2020 and 2040+ ✈️🌱
Adefunke Adeyemi @IATA#25by2025 ensures better female representation in senior roles. We wanted an intentional approach from the industry and for the c-suite to walk the talk. At a 2019 EU #aviation event, 30 CEOs of 30 #airlines committed to the initiative" #WomenInAerospace

At the request of my new [South-African, obviously] colleague @MPlagis, I swallowed the 163 pages of the #Semenya award yesterday.

It wasn’t the most pleasant literary experience of my life, but at least I learned what a judicial ‘hot tub’ is.

Here is a book review:

#Sportslaw
1. In short, what is interesting in the award is actually also what the #CAS forgot to mentioned in its press release, the core of #IAAF’s winning case turns on the concepts of ‘biological males’ & ‘sports sex’.

#Semenya #Autonomy #Sportslaw
2. But let me start by regretting that the #CAS hearing was not public because @caster800m’s testimony (see paras 73-87) recalling what she went through since 2009 would have deserved a global audience.

I've been sitting on a @SocietyGIM #sgim19 debrief #medthread since the meeting, and thought I might finally take a swing at it - here goes ..

I am considering whether I can do more division/systems leadership in coming years .. ->

Leading Change: Tools/Tips for Change Management

Crediting Alfred Burger, Emily Fondahn, Brent Petty, Nathan Spell, Dan Steinberg - can't find them on Twitter, so giving proper 🗣🗣.
3/ would like to share key concepts for all of us trying to lead in academic medicine or in #advocacy spaces.

$Uber’s and $LYFT’s disappointing debut seems to be impacting “innovation” stocks more broadly. Two problems nullify that relationship:
First, $UBER and $LYFT no longer are innovators, as #autonomy will destroy their business models.
Second, given the serious overvaluation in private relative to public equities, many more $IPOs will fail. We see many like for like companies valued in the private markets at 2-15 times those in the public markets as measured on price-to-sales.

It's the other side of the coin - females are to remain pure while males are expected to aggressively pursue sex. Both types of shaming target those who exclude themselves from the sexually economy of commodity vs shared experience.
Value is placed on gender adherence to...

...one's assigned role i.e. supply/demand.

Females supply their bodies.
Males demand use of bodies.

Both must maintain reputation in spite of mixed messaging & what they actually want (or DON'T want.)

Yet this system is painted as somehow virtuous.

In doing so, predators are excused from harmful behaviour. Targets are quantified according to gender, perceived level of attraction, ect
Girls don't report assault for fear of disbelief.
Boys fear being labeled homosexual.

Sex offenders are judged & prosecuted differently...

1/ What's wrong with #lawfirm compensation? Let @jordan_law21 count the ways.As predicted 🔮 (by me, about what I was going to do 😇), a #tweetstorm. First the link: law21.ca/2018/09/how-co…
2/ Next, my favorite #micdrop 🎤 quote: "law firms incentivize their lawyers to act in ways that are counter-productive to lwayers' happiness, clients' satisfaction and the firms' effectiveness." and 💥goes the 🧨-- more #truthbombs follow.
3/ 💯 agree that legacy compensation systems (and the attendant infrastructure of #tech, #process, #policy, governance as well as resulting #culture) emphasizes #lawyer effort over #client outcomes (namely, the billable hour). BUT I add here: what would be a better #alternative?
